Personal tips of VEVAs on how to work well with clients: A Summary

Spread the love

Virtual Elves VAs, called VEVAs, have their monthly “Huddle of the Elves” last August 25th 2022.  The huddle is usually the time when they share their ideas about a certain topic and interact with each other. In the recent Huddle of the Elves, each of the VEVAs who attended were able to share their personal tips on how to work well with clients. Almost 20 attendees were grouped into 3, with each groups having a mix of old and new VAs. We are happy to share to you the summary of what each group shared. Here they are:

What is your personal tip for working well with the client?

Group 1:

Personalization – you personalize each client. Each client has a different business, work style, personality and preference. You should be able to know all these and adapt with what they want.

Deep patience and consistent support – even if the client is not responding to you or getting back at you for more tasks, you should continue to reach out to them to follow-up and be there for them. In due time, when they expand and progress in their business, you will be the first person in their mind who they think will support them all throughout.

Maintain open communication – communication is key in any business relationship. As long as the client knows what is happening on your end, and that you comfortably share your ideas and thought about how you can support their business, you will work well with the client. It is important that you are always responsive and the client knows updates from you.

Be organized – as long as know how to organize your tasks and time, you will be able to work well with the client. Being organized prevents personal overwhelm so you can serve your clients well.

Group 2:

Group 2 also mentioned personalization and open communication as their common tips. Aside from these, being proactive and honest are also very important. The VAs need to be transparent as much as they can and always being there for the client. They advised further to create bulleted points of the questions to ask the client for better understanding of the tasks and responsibilities expected of them.

Group 3:

Tell your clients you want to work long term – for some of the VAs, telling the clients outright about their intentions to work long term helps the clients work out ways to allow the VA support them for a long time. Show the client that you are sincere with this offer by being reliable all the time.

Honesty and loyalty are critical – for the VA who shared this, she mentions that it is not just about giving your 100% skills and abilities but also making personal connection. Clients are also human beings and would like to know you.

Building trust is critical – They don’t know you so building trust is crucial. Character is more important than competency because you can learn skills. Just remember that you are there to make things easier for them. to build trust, do what you say you will do and follow through on what you have promised. Do not be afraid to ask questions if you don’t understand so you can do the tasks as expected.

Anticipate the client needs and be a problem solver to support the client.

We hope these tips are helpful to you as much as these have been helpful to our VEVAs.
